NTFS File System Format

Rabu, 08 Juli 2009
NTFS File System FormatOn the hard disk, there are two file formats that the system most commonly used, especially if the operating system used a Microsoft Windows based. Both the file system is NTFS and FAT.
NTFS file system format has advantages compared with the FAT file system, among others:
  1. NTFS has higher transfer speed.
  2. Drive compression feature.
  3. Error correction features more better.
  4. Encryption features.
However, some of the benefits of the above, the NTFS file system format also has a shortfall that this does not create a universal format. Only NT-based windows and several Linux distro that can read NTFS format. But these weaknesses can also be reduced by installing the program NTFS file format readers.

In addition, the NFTS may also be used in removable storage such as flash disks. In this way, the performance of flash disk can be more improved again. Learn how to optimize here.

How to Detect and Avoid Spyware

Sabtu, 27 Juni 2009
how to detect and avoid spywareSpyware many scattered on the internet. Spyware can be software or a link that will direct the spyware itself when in a click. Spyware is also known as adware, which will install itself into the system. In the software there are certain requirements (EULA) that tells what kind of adware installed participate. Adware is generally not a kind of dangerous. But there also used spyware to steal your username and password, such as Hijacked Ads, Flood of Pop-Ups and Identity Theft. This common type of spyware are on the spam email, and popup windows when start activity on internet.

Signs that the system is exposed to spyware, including:

  1. Many of the popup windows that appear
  2. Appear strange icon on the task tray
  3. Various error messages appear
  4. Computer suddenly feels slow when used to open a program or application processing tasks

For that there are a few tips in order to avoid computer from spyware attacks, including:
  1. Avoid file sharing programs or Perr to Perr (P2P).
  2. Perform regularly scans with updated antispyware programs.
  3. Clean out cookies after web surfing.
  4. Always check if there is a file in an email attachment.
  5. Try Firewall always live.
  6. Use a Windows limited user account for usual activities.
  7. Always scan before entering the data from the outside, such as solid state disk or memory card.

Rootkit

rootkit

Rootkit
is a set of software tools that have access to the administrator at the level of the PC or network. He was able to hide the processes that are running and have permission to control the desktop. Because of its ability, the rootkit often injected by spyware, Trojan, phishing application or other harmful programs. Here are tips to avoid rootkit:

  1. Update your operating system patch frequently.
  2. Read and understand the EULA when installing a particular application.
  3. Avoid the installation of the application perr-to-perr (P2P).
  4. Avoid sites and programs that are less reliable.
  5. Use a secure browser.
  6. Perform configuration on e-mail application to block file attcahment with .vbs, .bat, .exe, .pif and .scr extensions, that often used for the spread of the virus.

To remember, not all rootkit is bad. A good antivirus software should be able to detect whether a good or bad rootkit. Next, the task is to determine whether the administrator will be installed rootkit in the system or not.

AntiVirus for Data Protection

Senin, 04 Mei 2009
Computer is as a place that used to work at once to save our jobs. What happens when the computer suddenly infected by harmfull virus that can damaged any important data, we can not blame anyone-who. Moere anticipate that required in this case. Anticipation can be installed antivirus and firewall.

There are many anti-virus with all the ability to recognize that there is virus in their virus database. That is the importance of antivirus software so that we always update. Updates are usually available in two ways, automatic update and manual update. With automatic updates, antivirus can always update itself when the antivirus vendor has issued the latest update, both the database and the antivirus software itself. Automatic updates can be selected if we already have your own internet connection as General if we do not have the internet channel, so the best way is to do manual update, the search for the file update antivirus that usually on compressed file. To own antivirus software, many options available.

Choose antivirus software that is always up-to-date, so that important data is there in the computer we can be more awake, because no one can guarantee 100% data security.

Change Default Location for Installing Application

Kamis, 19 Maret 2009
folder-pict
As the size of hardrives increase, more people are using partitions to seperate and store groups of files.

XP uses the C:\Program Files directory as the default base directory into which new programs are installed. However, you can change the default installation drive and/ or directory by using a Registry hack.

Run the Registry Editor (regedit)and go to

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion

Look for the value named ProgramFilesDir. by default, this value will be C:\Program Files. Edit the value to any valid drive or folder and XP will use that new location as the default installation directory for new programs.

Speed Windows XP

Rabu, 18 Maret 2009
xp-computerSince defragging the disk won't do much to improve Windows XP performance, here are suggestions that will. Each can enhance the performance and reliability of your customers' PCs. Best of all, most of them will cost you nothing.

1.) To decrease a system's boot time and increase system performance, use the money you save by not buying defragmentation software the built-in Windows defragmenter works just fine and instead equip the computer with an Serial ATA hard drive with 8-MB cache buffer.

2.) If a PC has less than 512 MB of RAM, add more memory. This is a relatively inexpensive and easy upgrade that can dramatically improve system performance.

3.) Ensure that Windows XP is utilizing the NTFS file system. If you're not sure, here's how to check: First, double-click the My Computer icon, right-click on the C: Drive, then select Properties. Next, examine the File System type; if it says FAT32, then back-up any important data. Next, click Start, click Run, type CMD, and then click OK. At the prompt, type CONVERT C: /FS:NTFS and press the Enter key. This process may take a while; it's important that the computer be uninterrupted and virus-free. The file system used by the bootable drive will be either FAT32 or NTFS. I highly recommend NTFS for its superior security, reliability, and efficiency with larger disk drives.

4.) Disable file indexing. The indexing service extracts information from documents and other files on the hard drive and creates a "searchable keyword index." As you can imagine, this process can be quite taxing on any system.

Hidden Back-Up Xp

Selasa, 17 Maret 2009
backup-computerAlmost all important data backups must be to ensure the existence of the data in the future if at any time any damage data. Most of the software we use 3rd party to do the back-up. Indeed, the result is guaranteed. But you know, Windows Xp own facilities that already provide back-up, to do so please follow the following steps:

1. Insert your windows XP disc into your PC.

2. Click exit if your installation screen comes up.

3. Now go too your CD drive in *My Computer*. Right-click and select open.

4. Choose VALUE ADD\MSFT\NT BACK-UP FILE.

In the *files of type* drop down list be sure that *select all files* is on.

5. Click on the NTBACK-UP.msi file and click okay.

6. Click the finish button and now go over too the start button\ALL PROGRAMS\ACCESSORIES\SYSTEM TOOLS\ and there it is now.. BACK-UP FILES...

Great little tool that Microsoft never should have hidden.

10 Reason PC Crash

computer-crash
Most people have just been struck by the Blue Screen of Death. Anyone who uses Microsoft Windows will be familiar with this. What can you do? More importantly, how can you prevent it happening? Maybe this explain below can help you

1. Hardware conflict
The number one reason why Windows crashes is hardware conflict. Each hardware device communicates to other devices through an interrupt request channel (IRQ). These are supposed to be unique for each device.

2. Bad Ram
Ram (random-access memory) problems might bring on the blue screen of death with a message saying Fatal Exception Error. A fatal error indicates a serious hardware problem. Sometimes it may mean a part is damaged and will need replacing.

3. BIOS settings
Every motherboard is supplied with a range of chipset settings that are decided in the factory. A common way to access these settings is to press the F2 or delete button during the first few seconds of a boot-up.

4. Hard disk drives
After a few weeks, the information on a hard disk drive starts to become piecemeal or fragmented. It is a good idea to defragment the hard disk every week or so, to prevent the disk from causing a screen freeze.

5. Fatal OE exceptions and VXD errors
These can often be resolved easily by reducing the resolution of the video display.

6. Viruses
Often the first sign of a virus infection is instability. Some viruses erase the boot sector of a hard drive, making it impossible to start. This is why it is a good idea to create a Windows start-up disk.

7. Printers
Printers have only a small amount of memory, called a buffer. This can be easily overloaded. Printing a document also uses a considerable amount of CPU power. This will also slow down the computer's performance.

8. Software
A common cause of computer crash is faulty or badly-installed software. Often the problem can be cured by uninstalling the software and then reinstalling it.

9. Overheating
Central processing units (CPUs) are usually equipped with fans to keep them cool. If the fan fails or if the CPU gets old it may start to overheat and generate a particular kind of error called a kernel error.

10. Power supply problems
With all the new construction going on around the country the steady supply of electricity has become disrupted. A power surge or spike can crash a computer as easily as a power cut.

Motherboards Buyers Guide

Jumat, 13 Maret 2009
computer-motherboard
What you won't get is a new hard drive, optical drive, or operating system, though the new motherboard gives you the option of upgrading these components later. When you do it yourself, you choose the make, model, and cost that serve you best, rather than settling for what's preloaded in an off-the-shelf machine.

For as little as $200 to $350, you can purchase a motherboard with a new Core 2 Duo or Athlon X2 processor and 1 Gb of RAM. That's hundreds of dollars less than the retail cost of a midrange PC that supports PCIE 2.0 graphics cards, Serial ATA drives, and the other advanced features that your new motherboard is likely to offer.

Motherboard Buyers Guide

Size matters: Most desktop PCs sold in the last few years conform to the ATX form factor (as do most motherboards), but not all do. Many small or ultrabudget systems are based on other designs, and big-name vendors aren't ATX-compatible. Refer to your computer's documentation to see if the new motherboard will fit inside its case.

Find the right CPU: The optimal combination of CPU price and performance may lead you to early versions of Athlon X2 and Core 2 Duo processors. Make sure you buy box version. With that you can get full warranty. Retail boxed versions of 2 GHz to 3 GHz Athlon X2 processors cost less than $100, while Core 2 Duo processors E2xxx, E4xxx and E7xxx cost less than $130. OEM versions of both (that's minus the fancy box, the cooling fan, and sometimes a warranty) may be priced considerably lower.

Be picky: Steer clear of no-name vendors and buy from established manufacturers only.
Pay for power: Your old PC's power supply may not have enough wattage or may lack the 12-volt amperage needed to run some Core 2 Duo and Athlon X2 motherboards. Check the new motherboard's requirements against the specs on your power supply. If in doubt, buy a power supply that generates 400 watts or more.

Faster is better: A motherboard's frontside bus speed is the rate at which data moves between the CPU and RAM. FSB speed can have a greater effect on overall system performance than listed CPU speed, which is a multiple of the FSB speed. The faster the FSB, the better.

Sight and sound off: Some low-cost motherboards have sound and graphics functions built in. The quality of these integrated functions is often marginal. Make sure that any built-in sound and graphics can be disabled, and that separate audio and graphics boards can be added.

AMI BIOS Beep Codes

Minggu, 08 Maret 2009
ami-technology
When a computer is first turned on, or rebooted, its BIOS performs a power-on self test (POST) to test the system's hardware, checking to make sure that all of the system's hardware components are working properly. Under normal circumstances, the POST will display an error message; however, if the BIOS detects an error before it can access the video card, or if there is a problem with the video card, it will produce a series of beeps, and the pattern of the beeps indicates what kind of problem the BIOS has detected.

Because there are many brands of BIOS, there are no standard beep codes for every BIOS. The two most-used brands are AMI (American Megatrends International) and Phoenix. Below are listed the beep codes for AMI systems :

  • 1 Beep DRAM refresh failure. There is a problem in the system memory or the motherboard.
  • 2 Beeps Memory parity error. The parity circuit is not working properly.
  • 3 beeps Base 64K RAM failure. There is a problem with the first 64K of system memory.
  • 4 beeps System timer not operational. There is problem with the timer(s) that control functions on the motherboard.
  • 5 beeps Processor failure. The system CPU has failed.
  • 6 beeps Gate A20/keyboard controller failure. The keyboard IC controller has failed, preventing gate A20 from switching the processor to protect mode.
  • 7 beeps Virtual mode exception error.
  • 8 beeps Video memory error. The BIOS cannot write to the frame buffer memory on the video card.
  • 9 beeps ROM checksum error. The BIOS ROM chip on the motherboard is likely faulty.
  • 10 beeps CMOS checksum error. Something on the motherboard is causing an error when trying to interact with the CMOS.
  • 11 beeps Bad cache memory. An error in the level 2 cache memory.
  • 1 long beep, 2 short Failure in the video system.
  • 1 long beep, 3 short A failure has been detected in memory above 64K.
  • 1 long beep, 8 short Display test failure.
  • Continuous beeping A problem with the memory or video.

10 Security Enhancements

Jumat, 06 Maret 2009
Security is important, but before you spend a dime on security, there are many precautions you can take that will protect you against the most common threats.

1. Check Windows Update and Office Update regularly (http://office.microsoft.com/productupdates); have your Office CD ready. Windows Me, 2000, and XP users can configure automatic updates. Click on the Automatic Updates tab in the System control panel and choose the appropriate options.

2. Install a personal firewall. Both SyGate (www.sygate.com) and ZoneAlarm (www.zonelabs.com) offer free versions.

3. Install a free spyware blocker. Try SpyBot Search & Destroy (http://security.kolla.de). SpyBot is also paranoid and ruthless in hunting out tracking cookies.

4. Block pop-up spam messages in Windows NT, 2000, or XP by disabling the Windows Messenger service (this is unrelated to the instant messaging program). Open Control Panel | Administrative Tools | Services and you'll see Messenger. Right-click and go to Properties. Set Start-up Type to Disabled and press the Stop button. Bye-bye, spam pop-ups! Any good firewall will also stop them.

5. Use strong passwords and change them periodically. Passwords should have at least seven characters; use letters and numbers and have at least one symbol. A decent example would be f8izKro@l. This will make it much harder for anyone to gain access to your accounts.

6. If you're using Outlook or Outlook Express, use the current version or one with the Outlook Security Update installed. The update and current versions patch numerous vulnerabilities.

7. Buy antivirus software and keep it up to date. If you're not willing to pay, try Grisoft AVG Free Edition (Grisoft Inc., w*w.grisoft.com). And doublecheck your AV with the free, online-only scanners available at w*w.pandasoftware.com/activescan and http://housecall.trendmicro.com.

8. If you have a wireless network, turn on the security features: Use MAC filtering, turn off SSID broadcast, and even use WEP with the biggest key you can get. For more, check out our wireless section or see the expanded coverage in Your Unwired World in our next issue.

9. Join a respectable e-mail security list, such as the one found at our own Security Supersite at http://security.ziffdavis.com, so that you learn about emerging threats quickly and can take proper precautions.

10. Be skeptical of things on the Internet. Don't assume that e-mail "From:" a particular person is actually from that person until you have further reason to believe it's that person. Don't assume that an attachment is what it says it is. Don't give out your password to anyone, even if that person claims to be from "support."

Motherboard BIOS Update Guide

Kamis, 05 Maret 2009
bios-technologyThe motherboard is an important tool that we build a computer, because all the components on the motherboard we installed computer, from the processor, memory (RAM), VGA Card and port-port support peripherals. The motherboard consists of a variety of different critical components, including South Bridge and North Bridge.

North Bridge tasked to set up the data traffic going between the processor, memory (RAM) and the VGA card (either onboard or addon), while the South Bridge tasked to set up the data path between the port peripherals connected to the motherboard and the PCI. All functions are controlled by the motherboard a small software that is embedded in the chip with the motherboard called the BIOS (Basic Input Output System). In fact update the motherboard BIOS is not required when all computer components, we can work well, if you update often required upgrading your computer components with a new, sometimes the new component is not fully supported by the motherboard. Motherboard vendors usually issue a bios update regularly. With a BIOS update, the compatibility of the components can be more awake.

The steps necessary to update the motherboard BIOS is to prepare a USB Flashdisk and of course the BIOS file below BIOS flash program for your motherboard. Motherboard BIOS can be obtained from the official website you motherboard. After all preparation is complete, follow these steps:

1. Download HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool in http://files.extremeoverclocking.com/file.php?f=197

2. Download Windows 98 System File in http://files.extremeoverclocking.com/file.php?f=196

3. Install HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool and extract the Windows 98 System File C: \

4. Enter USB Flashdisk, then run the HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool.

5. Select Create a DOS Start Up Disk, click Using System Located At DOS.

6. In the browse window, select the directory extract the Windows 98 System File.

7. Click Start unutk start the format process, wait until finished.

8. Copy the BIOS file and BIOS flash program (awdflash) into your USB Flashdisk, and then restart the computer.

9. Change the boot sequence in the BIOS boot order to make the beginning of USB Flashdisk, After boot you will be entered in the DOS mode.

10. Type C: \> awdflash nama_bios.bin / cks / sn / py / cc / cd / cp / ld / qi / WB, and then press Enter to begin the process of flash BIOS.

After following the steps above, now you have the motherboard with updated BIOS . With the update BIOS, the motherboard you will be able to work better than before the update.

Fast Boot with Windows XP

windows-xp-technology
Waiting is a boring job, waiting to start computer from booting up the windows ready to use it takes. But when we are in a hurry, the process can feel old. Many ways to speed up the booting windows xp, both with the software and tweaking with the RAM and hard drive capacity. Before it's all try to do the optimization booting time with empty hands, felt the increase was slightly, but not as closely as we use the software and upgrade hardware tweaking. For that follow the following steps:

1. Open notepad.exe, type "del c:\windows\prefetch\ntosboot-*.* /q" (without the quotes) & save as "ntosboot.bat" in c:\

2. From the Start menu, select "Run..." & type "gpedit.msc".

3. Double click "Windows Settings" under "Computer Configuration" and double click again on "Shutdown" in the right window.

4. In the new window, click "add", "Browse", locate your "ntosboot.bat" file & click "Open".

7. Double click on "IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers"

8. Right click on "Primary IDE Channel" and select "Properties".

9. Select the "Advanced Settings" tab then on the device or 1 that doesn't have 'device type' greyed out select 'none' instead of 'autodetect' & click "OK".

10. Right click on "Secondary IDE channel", select "Properties" and repeat step 9.

11. Reboot your computer.

After all the steps above, your computer will be faster at boot. Results may be different on each computer, depending on the configuration of hardware and software that is installed in the computer. Try to be more optimal to disable some of the applications that run when the autorun.

PC Maintenance

PC technologyComputer must also be treated as the body. Although impossible to give this vitamin, every time the control condition are required to do. For example here, the more activities the documents or data that is done, the same file more supporting documents attached (which is ultimately not used) and accumulate in the system. This is like the rest of the fat that is not be merged are the longer accumulate in the body.

Imagine if the "fat" PC in the pile. As a result, the same as fat in the body: to make fat, causing the body to work hard and invite many disease. Similar to the PC, if not a lot of useful files that accumulate in the system, its impact can not necessarily make you comfortable working with. As a result, the PC can even be slow to make repeated hang. To have the device back to normal, try to do the "fat burning". Fat burning fat in the PC can be done by running tools such as property windows Disk Cleanup, this application is the system and collect all the files that are not useful. Then you can direct them to the Recycle Bin or delete it permanently. In addition to the schedule for defrag at least once a week so that your PC is more comfortable in the work.

If the condition turns out the PC still quite heavy due to "overweight" trash file, it's good you try to implement additional cleaning.Utilities such as this lot is available on the internet, either paid or free.

Blackberry and PC Synchronization

blackberry technologyFor the transfer of data between the Blackberry and the PC can not be the only way the withdrawal normal storage. Data contained in the application blackberry or PC can be transferred each other as contacts, calendar, memo and task. Move through the way the so-called synchronization.

With synchronization, users can switch each other to a variety of important data in your PC or Blackberry. Here are the steps:

1. Run the Blackberry Desktop Manager software on the PC and connect the device with your PC using a USB data cable. Wait until the device PIN number appears, then click the Synchronize option on the menu desktop manager.

2. After the box Synchronize organizer data marked with a check, click on the synchronization menu below configration.

3. Click the Synchronize button to configure the data from the program you want synchronized.

4. Select the application you want synchronized from each device. Click OK when finished with the selection.

5.Back to Synchronize main menu, then click the Synchronize button to start the process Synchronize.

Take Care Your Motherboard

A question that regularly crops up on the internet is that of how to repair Motherboards. The types of questions generated on the various forums and e-mails indicate that the problems arise in computers of all leading brands and also unbranded ones. There are innumerable methods of repair suggested on the internet. Most of the repairs of bad motherboards follow the method of trial and error and are not very reliable in terms of results.

The decision to repair a motherboard is not for the week at heart. It can be time consuming and risky. It can take considerable time and, due to the fragile parts, you could break something. If you bend a motherboard to much it can crack or break making it useless.

Computers show the effects of usage by how slow they work. One cause is the amount of dust that collects on the motherboard. This dust affects the working of the motherboard and can make them overheat and fail. One step to motherboard repair is to remove the dust. This can be done by using a small vacuum cleaner or canned air to remove the dust as much as possible. With motherboard problems It is very important to know the components that make up the motherboard before ever venturing to repair a bad motherboard. The motherboard is the main board that contains the central circuit board of the computer. All other components and peripherals are plugged in or connected to the motherboard. One of the main functions of the motherboard is to relay information between them. The motherboard houses the BIOS (Basic Input/Output System) which is simple software run by the computer designed to function when the computer is switched on.To repair motherboards you should know that Chipsets in the motherboard are those that form an interface between two main parts of the computer, the front side bus and the peripheral buses or the main memory.

There are some memory chips that are extremely non volatile and it contains the firmware of the system or what is popularly known as the BIOS. Motherboards also contain a clock generator which is responsible to produce the system clock signal that can help in synchronizing various components. The cause of a bad motherboard could be in any of the components. It is best that the job is assigned to an experienced and technically qualified person or a reputable dealer or the manufacturer of the board. It is mostly better if you replace the bad motherboard with a new one. It is extremely expensive to repair an old motherboard. You should compare the price of repair to the purchase of a new computer.

Wind Turbine

Kamis, 05 Februari 2009
human technology turbineToday, most people in the US and all other the world want to live off grid because of the outrageous utility bills they are forced to pay.

One of the easiest ways to do it is to start using wind for electricity.

Many people are thinking about using natural wind power to save money. A small percentage of these people take action because they don't have the right knowledge and think it's way too complicated.

The truth is that the average person can do this. And it won't cost you more than two hundred dollars to start.

How can you create wind electricity for homes?

Free electricity is an amazing concept. I must admit that the first time I stumbled upon this green power method, I was wondering if there was something magical behind this. I couldn't imagine that you could create your own power and say goodbye to your bills. Yes, I did know that living off grid was possible, but the only experience I had was though a trip to Sudan. Since electricity is often cut in some part of Sudan, many people have an "emergency" electricity generator to supply electricity if needed.

But creating your own power with the wind, sun or the water was completely new to me.

There is a couple of things to consider if you want to use wind turbine electricity generators. First, the wind is free and abundant, but sometimes, there is no wind.

Do you understand what I mean? The more wind you can transform into power, and the better it is for you. But when there is no wind flow for a while, this will be difficult for you. Plus those wind turbines rotor blades can be damaged by birds.

Wind turbines also create some minimal noise and may interfere with TV reception in some case. Also, birds have been known to fly into the rotor blades from time to time.

You know you want to buy a flat-screen TV but you don't know if a plasma TV or an LCD TV would be your best choice.

This article explains the differences between plasma versus LCD TVs, then shows you how to get the best price for a plasma or LCD TV.

Plasma TV

human technology plasmaA plasma TV screen consists of millions of multi-colored gas-filled cells. When electricity passes through the cells they light up and produce a picture.Plasma TV screens have a much higher resolution than tube TV screens. In fact, the picture is so clear it's almost like watching a scene through a window.
Screen sizes range from 42" to 65" wide and are 3" to 4" thick.

LCD TV

human technology lcdLCD (light crystal display) TV screens are made up of a thin layer of liquid crystals sandwiched between two glass plates. When an electricity is sent through the crystals an array of tiny multi-colored pixels light up to create a picture. LCD TV screens are thinner and lighter than plasma screens. They are the most screens for computers, and are quickly gaining popularity as TV screens. LCD TV screens are anywhere from 1/4" to 4" thick and 2" to 65" wide.

When it comes to which type of TV screen is sharper and shows more detail, plasma TVs have a slight edge over LCD TVs, though LCD TVs are catching up.Plasma TVs are also slightly better when it comes to viewing angle – how far you can sit to one side of a TV screen before picture quality is affected.

- Screen Life

Screen life is the number of hours a TV provides before the picture begins to fade. Plasma TVs have a screen life of about 30,000 to 60,00 hours, depending on the make and model, while LCD TV's have a screen life of 60,000 hours or more.Plasma TVs are also subject to "burn in." This occurs when a TV displays a still image long enough for a ghost of that image to be burned into the screen. LCD TVs do not have this problem.

- HD TV

Both plasma and LCD TVs display HD (high definition) signals for a sharper, more three dimensional picture. LCD TVs, however, have a slightly higher resolution (more screen pixels) then plasma TVs.

- Video Games

Plasma and LCD TVs are both great for video gaming, however because of plasma TV's tendency toward screen burn in, an LCD TV is the better choice if you play a lot of video games.

- Portability

LCD TVs are thinner and lighter than plasma TVs, making them easier to move and easier to mount on a wall.
